What was more talked about in India than the recession or even the rains or lack of it? - Kareenaâs size zero. The entire nation wants to KNOW how she has lost so much weight and in such little time!
Kareena Kapoor known as a âhealthyâ non-vegetarian Punjabi, turned suddenly into a âslimâ vegetarian icon. Her size zero had the entire nation buzzing. But the fact of the matter is Kareena didnât suddenly emerge as a slim, lean beauty, she had been working out from at least 5 years before the âSize zeroâ news came into forefront.
The âTashanâ look was the result of the efforts of the dietician Rujuta Diwekarâs efforts as well as Kareenaâs own determination to be fit.
Everyone would laugh if you tell them that eating will make you lose weight, thatâs true but the entire truth is âeating right at the right timeâ will make you lose weight. Thatâs what Kareena did, of course with her daily dose of yoga.
Contrary to the rumors that Kareena is surviving on fruit juices, she is munching all the time. Kareena actually has 5 meals in a day within an interval of 2 hours.
So here is when and what she eats-
Breakfast: Alternates between a bowl of muesli which is cereals made of oats with nuts and two parathas and curd. Lunch/ Dinner: Chapattis made of Jowar or Nachni with lots of green vegetables and dal. Kareena likes all kinds of vegetables like Parvar- snake gourd, Bhopla-Pumpkin, Karela- bitter gourd, Tinda or little gourd, Doodhi- bottle gourd. Her diet does not include rice as she hates it. Snacks: Nuts and milk every three hours to get energy. Â She is often called as the âchana- shingdanaâ girl as she is seen munching on these nuts continuously. She loves cheese and eats at least one slice a day for its protein content and fattyacids. Energy Drink: two bottles of electrol.
Diet on the move:
With Bollywood films having song sequences covering the entire planet, it is but natural for Kareena to go to places and travel the world during her shoots. Kareena doesnât abandon her diet just because she is not at home.
Rujuta and Kareena discuss where she is going to be in and what the staple diet of that place is, then Rujuta tells her the health stores that are available where she can buy her yogurt and soy supplies. Their motto is âThink global and eat Localâ.
In Venice, she has wholesome Pasta with Cheese, Malta, soup. In Bangkok, she feasts on Thai curry, Steamed rice and noodles. In New York, she eats on Salads and soups. In Ladakh, she has Momos and thuppas noodles.
This of course doesnât mean that she eats whatever she finds; there is a thought behind it all.
In a place like Ladakh, which is 3500 m above sea level where the sun shines bright, there are chances of dehydration, the travel leads to multiple dehydration, so one needs to increase the carbohydrate and liquid intake because if there aren't enough carbohydrates, one can't store enough water. So sometimes it's essential to have a carbohydrates-rich diet.
