help with eyebrows and upper lips? (GIRLS ONLY)?

I am a 13 year old indian girl living in bangkok, and i am very conscious about my looks. i want to pluck my eyebrows and upper lips in the parlor (ofc with my mom) and i would not wanna wax them, but i am scared about only one thing. i am scared that the hair on the upper lips and eyebrows will grow too fast and look dreadful. On the first time, how often do they grow? Can you pluck very tiny hairs when they grow again? Are they a pain to always check if it has grown etc.? do not want to wax or shave it, but is it true that if u pluck it it grows everyday?!?! if i think of more questions they will go in the additional details. PLEASE HELP. thanks a tons.

100 points for best answer. PLEASE HELP.

You can pluck or thread your eyebrows and upper lip. Actually, after awhile, the hair grows back finer and less dense. I tweeze a little every day after the shower when the hair folicles are open from the steam and warm water. The hair is easier to remove then.

How fast it grows back depends on your genetics.

If you shave it, when the hair grows back, it’ll look thicker because of the blunt edge left by the razor. I wouldn’t recommend shaving your face since you’re not a guy! :)

Hair grows in cycles, so no matter how you remove it, it will continue to grow (but it won’t go crazy and grow more than you had before). If I were you, I’d get a professional brow shaping at a salon or such, then buy a good set of tweezers and maintain it as your brows/ upper lip grow back.

Don’t wax it; you’re too young for that.
Stick with plucking. I pluck all the time and those dumb hairs that grow back can be easily plucked also. As for your upper lip, just leave it alone at this age.
However you can just pluck your eyebrows every couple days and you’ll be good to go. (:

Waxing is the best way to go if you’re worried about the hair growing back. It DOES suck, and I can see why you wouldn’t want to do it, but that is the easiest way for it to be gone the longest. You’d have to do it again in a month, which is probably when it would grow back, unless you just pluck as you go. This is perfectly acceptable. Thats what I do – wax once, pluck w/ tweezers when I see new ones pop up. The hair will grow either way. However, I’ve heard that if you wax enough, the hair will cease to grow back after a while, but I’d rather just pluck because waxing can be harsh on the body.

I’ve never plucked my upper lip, but I do wax occasionally. Generally, I have a cream that burns off the hair, which sounds horrible, but it’s really not that bad. It doesn’t hurt at all, and takes about 10 minutes once a week. I’m not sure if this is available in Bangkok though. If not, consider threading. For the most part, it doesn’t hurt as much as waxing, but the pain is spread out longer. They both suck, but threading is slightly less painful and waxing is quicker. You’ll get used to the pain if you do it enough. You can try plucking the upper lip, but I’m not sure it’ll work. And if it did, it would take FOREVER.

Waxing lasts 3-4 weeks, threading lasts 2-3. Plucking tiny hairs is hard, but it can be done. Checking to see if it has grown is easy. Just look in the mirror. :) DON’T SHAVE, OR IT WILL GROW EVERY DAY! Plucking won’t make it grow every day, if you do it right. It’s basically the same thing as threading and waxing, but just one hair at a time. You should be pulling in the direction the hair grows; thus, the hair will be ripped out at the root.

    Bottom line:
Brows – Wax or thread, then pluck when you see new ones.
Upper lip – Keep waxing or threading.

    Hope this helps!
