Try Royal City Avenue or RCA, there’s dozens of large nightclubs that aren’t go go bars. Also, the Hollywood Disco on Ratchadaphisik Soi 8 is a fun place, there’s also quite a few other clubs in the area. There’s also a Hard Rock Cafe in Siam Square and the CM2 club in the Novotel Hotel there. The Saxophone Pub at Victory Monument is a great place for jazz, although not that large. The Sukhumvit area has plenty of bars, pubs and clubs that aren’t go go bars, just stay away from Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy although both those areas have bars that aren’t go go bars. Here’s a list of some nightclubs in Bangkok, there’s plenty of other clubs throughout the city too: http://bangkok2night.com/clubs/index.shtml
